Vitamin B12 Injections

What Do Vitamin B12 Injections Do?

Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin that helps keep the body’s nerve cells and blood cells healthy. It also plays an important role in normal energy metabolism, the formation of red blood cells, and reducing tiredness and fatigue associated with vitamin B12 deficiency.
Vitamin B12 injections deliver the vitamin directly into the muscle, allowing it to be absorbed into the bloodstream without relying on the digestive system. This can be beneficial for people who have a diagnosed vitamin B12 deficiency or difficulty absorbing vitamin B12.

Vitamin B12 injections may help to:

  • Restore vitamin B12 levels in people with a deficiency
  • Support normal energy-yielding metabolism
  • Help reduce tiredness and fatigue associated with vitamin B12 deficiency
  • Support normal nervous system function
  • Contribute to normal red blood cell formation
  • Support normal psychological function
  • Support normal immune system function

A full consultation will be carried out before treatment to determine whether Vitamin B12 injections are appropriate for you.

How Long Do the Results Last?

You may notice an improvement in your skin within a few weeks, with results continuing to develop as collagen production increases over the following months.

For the best outcome, a course of 3–6 treatments, spaced around 4–6 weeks apart, is often recommended. Results can last several months, particularly when combined with a good skincare routine and regular maintenance treatments every 6–12 months, depending on your skin concerns.

Who Cannot Have Microneedling Treatments?

Microneedling may not be suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant (depending on the products used during treatment).
  • Have an active skin infection, cold sore, or inflammation in the treatment area.
  • Have severe acne or open wounds in the area being treated.
  • Have certain skin conditions, such as active eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area.
  • Have a history of poor wound healing or keloid scarring.
  • Are taking certain medications, such as isotretinoin (or have taken it within the last 6–12 months, depending on clinical advice).
  • Are currently unwell with a significant illness or infection.
  • Are under 18 years of age.

A full consultation and skin assessment will be carried out before treatment to ensure microneedling is safe and appropriate for you.
